X Factor US: Top 4 (Viewer's Choice & Song for the Final)
Melanie Amaro - 'Feeling Good' by Michael Buble
Wahpiang, the nuances that she conquered in this performance are insane. Last note indeed was standing-ovation worthy. She just outdoes herself week after week, and I don't see the other 3 guys being able to take the $5 million contract from her. A+
Josh Krajcik - 'Hallelujah' by Leonard Cohen
'Hallelujah' is very much an overplayed performance piece, but I was thrilled to hear him perform this. It was not as breathtaking as I anticipated it to be, but still a very good job. A
Chris Rene - 'No One' by Alicia Keys
It's true, he hasn't got the best voice in this competition, but what he has is the spirit and the soul. Not many recording artists these days have amazing vocals, but they are able to brand themselves, and that's what make them successful. Dark horse indeed. A-
Melanie Amaro - Hero
Ahh, why did the audience give her this song?!?! SO BORING. It was vocally competent for sure though. A-
Josh Krajcik - 'Come Together' by The Beatles
This was DEFINITELY better than 'Dirty Diana' 2 weeks ago. Still, I'd rather see his delicate side than this. B+
Chris Rene - 'Fly' by Sugar Ray
This was a good song choice for him - very feel-good, and he connected with the audience well. Not one of his best though. B+
Marcus Canty - 'Careless Whisper' Wham!
He really shouldn't have stayed for one more week. Really shouldn't. This is an absolute joke. We're living in 2011, not 1941. No idea how the 3 judges other than Simon saw it as a good performance. B
Marcus Canty - 'I'll Make Love To You' by Boyz II Men
Vocally horrendous. Not the least bit refreshing and current. This is cliche written all over the screen. B-
