Your #1 Destination for Music & Reality TV

28 February 2009

To those of pertinence.

We had a great BBQ, and we came in first for Music Fest.
More importantly, we are currently overall first for IHC Aesthetics.

I'm extremely proud of every single BB'ian who've participated and played your hearts out for BB. Whether or not you volunteered to be part of an event, whether or not you were persuaded/sabo-ed by the HouseD to take part in it; always take pride in the fact that you have made a difference to BB, that all of you not only came out tops in almost every IHC event, you guys in the process played a fair and square game.

We trusted your capabilities, and you guys certainly never failed to prove the reason why we placed so much trust in every single one of you.

“IHC. Music Fest concluded last Friday, and the current House Standings are as follows: In fifth place, HH with 51 points. Joint in third place, MR and MT with 68 points. In second place, BW with 78 points. And currently in first place, BB with 83 points.”

As they announce this on Monday, let’s smile in pride, and know that we were part of this wonderful journey.

Let's rally BB Drama Fest on as they help us tide over our final hurdle. And whatever the result, BB, know that you are always the best.

WOO. 5 out of 6 Top 12 predictions right! =D

26 February 2009

We're looking for CURRENT.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JJ LIN!!
ZHU NI KUAI GAO ZHANG DA, CONG MING LING LI. =D
---

Predictions!
  • Adam Lambert: That was one very extreme performance, with him belting out all the crazy-high notes in his very pumped up rendition for 'Superstition'.
  • Allison Iraheta: Lil' Kelly Clarkson takes the stage, performing a typical Idol competition song 'Alone'. Boring song choice, but great vocals.
  • Kris Allen: One of those under-the-radar contestants, but might just get in based on his well-secured vocals and confidence, along with his boyish looks. Performed 'Man In The Mirror' by MJ.
It'd be nice if Matt Giraud got in, but he screwed up 'Viva La Vida' big time. No justice done to Coldplay.
Let's see how many I'd get right this time round.
---
OMG TAKES PLACE TOMORROW, 1500 hours @ Parade Square!
BBQ TAKES PLACE TOMORROW, 1700 hours @ The Canteen!
Music Fest TAKES PLACE TOMORROW, 1800 hours @ PAC!
BB'ians LETS GO LETS GO LETS GO!
We got first for Writers' Guild IHC, so well done to BB for pulling off yet another stunning mass event! Let's charge those green horns of ours to victory!

Oscars Results

Louis got 4 out of 5 predictions right, save for his choice of Anne Hatheway which was pretty unlikely. Proof!

Besides Sean Penn, Kate Winslet, Heath Ledger and Penelope Cruz winning the acting titles, Milk won for Best Writing (original screenplay), while Wall-E beat Kungfu Panda and Bolt for Best Animated Feature film. The two biggest award-winning movies were:
  • Slumdog Millionaire - Best Picture, Best Directing, Best Music (Score), Best Music (Song), Best Sound Editing, Best Film Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay)
  • The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button - Best Art Direction, Best Visual Effects, Best Makeup

I just read BB07's thank-you card,

and you guys made me realize that everything I've done over the past month was worth it.
Thanks BB07, that made me look forward to this new week ahead. I really love you all =)

22 February 2009

Blog entry 888.

Going back to school on Sunday is always a sucky feeling. But, it was pretty worthwhile today, because Secretariat made very lovely boards in preparation for Council Week!! Love everyone who came down today, those in the photo plus Cheryl Ang, Jane, Shiyang, Tammy, Tiddy and Xiangying!!

This is one of the 3 boards for House Directorates - this one's for BB and BW! See, I even put leaves around BB's one.
Councillors (or Councilors) say!! It's very lovely, I'd say!! And guess what, we have exactly 47 faces up there, that makes half of council LOL! YESSS.
I guess it's pretty much one thing off my load now, I'm undeniably happy, and I guess many are too! But there's still Peer Noms and everything else ahead, and the one and only BBQ, which all J1 BB'ians must go, ROAR.
Alright, off for Math. BYE.

19 February 2009

Second? Never reached there before omg.

Louis was tremendously happy today, save for his screwy contact lenses but it's alright now hah.
BB won half of the IHC events that concluded today, namely French Connection, Rangoli, and Speakers' Week!
Now how exciting is that!!

And then a hero comes along

Predictions for Top 12 finalists:
Alexis Grace, Danny Gokey, Anoop Desai.
Danny did a fantatastically controlled rendition of Mariah's 'Hero'. It was that close to David Cook pulling off 'Always Be My Baby'. Oh well, it's just the first round, it's good not to show everyone all that you've got first.
---
I'd better be moving on to my Econs case study.
---
BB did fantastic today. 3rd for Bridge, Gomoku and Library; 2nd for International Chess and Weiqi; 1st for Chinese Chess! This pushes BB up to 3rd placing, and if you include debates, we're tied 3rd with MT at 38 points, MR's at 40, BW's at 51.

GO BUCKLE BUCKLEY!

17 February 2009

Community Service should be freaking optional.

BB2 Debating Team. Yong Sheng, Aish, Jingyi, Louis. (not forgetting Peng)
I'm very proud to have two very intellectual and quick thinking people who are in my junior class, and Aish, you improved by leaps and bounds debate after debate. You guys delievered a superb performance, and as a fellow senior, I can say I'm very very optimitsic about our future in Aesthetics. Kudos to you all.
We lost 2 out of the 4 debates by terribly small margins, and I'm so sorry if I somewhat caused us the loss for the last debate, which is still haunting me up till now. But whoever cares. We were a great bunch of people and I'd just like to say a big thank you for making my last year of debating in Raffles so memorable.
09A03A & 10A13A
Yay, go junior class! Apologies for seeming rather stoned today during this first introductory session, but we hope you guys had fun with the food and charades HAHA.
---
On a sidenote, I'm terribly annoyed for having been caught by the teacher FOR THE FIRST TIME for 'dozing off' in class, and like what in the world, I dozed off for like 5 seconds. Why am I so unlucky. WHY. And RAP didn't make things any better, and I'm annoyed with myself.
---
Press on Louis, just a few more weeks before you can wipe your hands off these stuff and FOCUS ON YOUR STUDIES. I was just thinking about the loads of free time I'd potentially have if I had taken a different course. It was just a thought ok, it's not as though there's a viable option of backing out now. It's too late Louis, you got yourself into this crap. So DEAL WITH IT.

16 February 2009

What a weird elimination.

I enjoyed the season premiere of TAR. The whole production format seems to have changed, from the font type of their names, to all the scene transitions.

As usual, I'll list my favorites:
1) The pretty and athletic couple: Amanda And Kris. One of those I suppose will go far.
2) The endearing mother-son pair: Margie and Luke. The son is deaf, but wow, he's better than almost any of the contestants there.
3) The fantastic Asian couple: Tammy and Victor. They make Asians proud. Smart Harvard lawyers.
----
Won debates today. Experience really matters, I seem pretty at ease today compared to the secondary school years where I was practically franticalling out before every speech. This time, just relac take it easy man.

Sizzling This Week (16th - 22th Feb 2009)

1) Lady GaGa - Love Game

2) Lenka - The Show

3) Robin Thicke - Dreamworld

4) David Cook - Permanent

5) Kevin Rudolf - Let It Rock

13 February 2009

First Impressions Count.

Just caught the season premiere of Survivor: Tocantins. *SPOILER AHEAD*
The show started off brilliantly, with the contestants already split into 2 tribes. They had to vote for their weakest member who will not join on this adventure. The oldest (Sandy) and the weakest (Sierra) were identified; but Jeff Probst scammed them and said that they will be partaking in the game after all, just that they won't join the tribes on the 'adventure' which was a 4 hour trek to their campsite. The two lousiest people, however, had the privilege of taking the chopper directly to camp, and they were given time to find a hidden immunity idol. Rest of the juicy bits, you can go catch it.

Once again, Louis favors the darker colored tribe (Timbira) because they are less self-destructive and I can watch them in peace. Jalapeno, or whatever that is (according to Sandy), is just pretty dysfunctional, and thank god the whiny girl is out.

Personal favorites:
1) Tyson - One of the physically stronger ones, who can obviously be a bitch. He'll be a greater fun to watch. "I'll wear a tiara, a man tiara... do they make those?" - Tyson
2) Erinn - She's got this really cool feel about her, and I believe she'll make sensible decisions throughout the game which I believe will last her to the Final 3.
3) Sandy - Plain hilarious. She decided to look for the hidden Immunity Idol, and her last clue which would lead her to it was to 'Take 10 paces', after which she will find a 'Palm Tree'. Quote of the day: "I wonder what a pace is... I'm definitely going to figure out what ten paces are."
Blogs are dying. Everyone's not blogging anymore. So annoying hmph.

12 February 2009

Aesthetic's on my mind.

Matt Giraud, my personal favorite for American Idol Season 8.

10 February 2009

Rihanna got punched in the face yo.

1) My phone's external appearance is crap now.
2) OM got subsidy yay!
3) Council elections coming right up, madness.
4) IHC Debates. Omg. Louis hasn't been talking anything intellectual lately, so he finds it very hard to even debate.
5) Ok, I'll leave my to-do list at this for the moment. I don't want to freak out.

09 February 2009

Message To Self.

Louis, know what matters.
Those that don't, leave them aside, because
You've only got one shot to make this year all right.

08 February 2009

Let me hear you say HEY HEY HEY!

BB07 I love you all for your crazy cheerings throughout the performance, you all seriously rocks HAHA. And today's mass convo was hilarious btw LOL.

07 February 2009

Sizzling This Week (9th - 15th Feb 2009)

1) Lily Allen - Who'd Have Known
A great vocal performance from her 2nd studio album, It's Not Me, It's You.
2) The View - Give Back The Sun
Didn't really receive very favorable reviews from critics, but Q magazine gave this track a thumbs-up.
3) The Fray - You Found Me
The song asks about the problem of evil, of why bad things happen to good people. It made the "Hotshot Debut" at #28 on the Billboard Hot 100.
4) Metro Station - Seventeen Forever
Famous after their hit 'Shake It', this is another great song which video includes a cameo from Miley Cyrus.
5) Gavin Rossdale - Love Remains The Same
First single from his album WANDERlust, the song has peaked #27 on the Billboard Hot 100. [P.S He's Gwen Stefani's husband]

Wasn't it just yesterday?

Knights of Sowdenia
Talentime 2009 Band Category Winners!

Four of the many very nice and sporting guys in BB07 =)
BB07, with 3 very crazy OGLs. =D

Man, there's just too much to say for each and everything.

03 February 2009

O'TIERO!

RI(JC) - BATCH DANCE VIDEO FOR 2009!
BATCH SONG FOR J1S - WHEN WE LOOK BACK
Performed by Louis, Chloe, Mingzhe, Natalie on behalf of S&D!
Oh, the lovely OGlings of BB07 - O'utwitOutplayOutlast.

Thank goodness I got a fantastic bunch of enthusiastic and rather crazy J1s. Some still quite quiet, but I guess it's normal la huh, shyshy. But generally, I'm very happy they're all getting along well! 2 days only sia.

EA was hilarious. Took all kinds of photos (the SNTM one is the best) and videos (nonsense tribal dance which stunned this lady at the muesum), came up a really distinctively torturous-to-the-ears-yet-exciting cheer and ran all over AMK and Esplanade until we got pretty tired.
Taught Batch Dance today. VERY VERY VERY HAPPY with how things went, and the J1s were so receptive, I think even they did a better job than like the OGLs HAHA. They were super synchro and you could see it was very obvious that a lot of them could master the steps.
I want to post this picture here, because the two of them, despite being entirely unrelated to each other, look like they are twins. LOOK LIKE RIGHT OMG.

On a sidenote, Louis misses A03A. Farhanah ah, are you getting better? You sick is it!

Ok, I hate it when people accidentally send mass emails which is considered 'spam', and obviously, if I had done it, it wasn't on purpose. However, I hate it even more when people tell me to 'STOP SPAMMING THE GROUP', because like OBVIOUSLY, I KNOW THAT I SPAMMED IT ACCIDENTALLY RIGHT, and it's a STUPID message to say because erm, like you just SPAMMED THE GROUP AGAIN. Sorry, but I really am annoyed.
