Left you all a space in my heart. Now I'm heartless o.O

09A03A!
Seriously, how many times must I say I love this class.
Everyone once thought how a 14-strong class sounded ridiculous (ok they still do),
But I really really really enjoyed every single second with each and everyone of you.
1 MORE YEAR PEOPLE! WHY DOES TIME PASS SO QUICKLY =((((
LOVE YOU ALL ALWAYS!

Rip-Offs. BLEARGH.
Louis is brilliant.
He discovered that Hilary Duff's first single from her latest album Reach Out, sampled Jamelia's Beware Of The Dog, which sampled Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus. If you're interested in what I mean, watch these 3 videos. It's ridiculous. Even Christina Aguilera's latest song Keeps Gettin' Better is rather resemblant to these songs.

Let’s Dance to Joy Divison, and celebrate the irony.

"Sometimes, the most important thing to know is when to get out – and when to get in."
In the wise words of Gossip Girl, know when to get out! This morning was just total drama and awkwardness to the max. And I don't want it to happen again ok! Although it's very exciting to watch, but no I don't want my friends to fall out over such a random issue! AND CHEER UP YOU GUYS! You'll get your H3s!
*FYI, I had to drown myself in 'PARIS FOR PRESIDENT' to shut out the dramaness*
GOSSIP GIRL
Blair can't seem to be able to say 'I Love You' to Chuck. Dan Humphrey doesn't seem to be fated with Serena. Serena doesn't seem to be fated with Dan, and her ex-husband Aaron (She didn't know it was his ex-husband initially *laughs*) Jenny Humphrey, on the other hand, just falls prey into the craziness of her new friend. Nate is just crazy to fall in love with her after seeing her in her knickers. Given the craziness, I still like how there are so many connections here and there throughout every episode. That's what makes it GG so fabulous.

ONE TREE HILL.
I kinda miss Nanny Carrie. I missed the times where she tortured Dan with maggots and injections. Right now, it's just Lucas getting played by some bogus dude (who apparently knows his fiancee), Haley worrying about Nathan's spine, and Brooke trying to babysit 15-year-old Samantha who looks older than any girl in a03a. I want the crazy woman back!
---
Today's Econs tutorial was hilarious. We played the Monty Hall Game. Basically, you are given 3 doors. Behind 2 doors is a goat each, while behind one lies a car. You have to pick a door first; After which, one of the other two doors will be revealed to you. From then on, you'll decide whether to stick to your choice or to switch to the other door. Apparantly, based on probability and calculations, it'll be more advisable to switch, since there's a 2/3 chance of winning instead of just 1/3 (which was what you originally chose). Go try it with your friends.
For a more graphical explanation, here you go. It's from the show Numb3rs, and that dude managed to explain what we did for a period in only 2 MINUTES.
I TRIED IT WITH FARHANAH. And she totally picked Susie, Randy, AND ***** instead of Charlie, Marcus and A7X. LOL.

Paris For President!

With Claire and Michy hollering to their songs 24/7, it's hard not to like High School Musical.
Ok, granted that the story is kind of predictable (Michy didn't want any spoilers, though I thought there were none HAHA), you got to admit it certainly has very cool sets, ('I Want It All' was super glam, and Ryan wore hot pink pants which I would want for a birthday present next year LOL.) slickier dance moves, (Didn't you see the waltz?), and definitely some catchy tunes in it ("Now Or Never" and "The Boys Are Back").
OH, how could I forget the superb special effects of the basketballs falling from the sky when Troy Bolton was emo-ing his hearts out in Scream, which I suppose was a sequel to 'Bet On It' (He could even crawl on the walls like a lizard).
I thought this 3rd installment lacked the plot which the previous two had. The majorest plot was like him deciding whether to play basketball or go to Julliard? I mean, in the first one he showed how he wanted to play basketball and sing, in the second he get seduced by the upper class and has to stay true to himself and his friends. But seriously, I doubt anyone cares about the plot, because all the fans want to see is the chereography for each song and Zac Efron's body. And I really like this movie, because whatever they say just sounds so not ironical. I mean seriously, I didn't cringe when VanessaAnneNakedHudgens said "I want the rest of my life to feel just like a high school musical!!" Ok, but I did cringe when they were waltzing in the rain when the sun was scorching so brightly, and also when Vanessa's head popped out of nowhere at the intro scene.

You got to listen to Paris Hilton's new single. IT'S HILARIOUS. Meaningful lyrics much. America should really put her in-charge, because "look at Bush, it can't be that hard."

"If you're gonna put lipstick on a pig, make sure that it matches her skin tone."
2 more days before J1 is over. that is freaking fast.

Northern Downpour

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY VALERIE AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHY! WOOO!
Had an early dinner at JustAcia at Dhoby MRT area with some a03a'ers (damn hard to organize prior to that man HAHA at least still got 6 ppl ok!)

Fourplay: Louis and four of his classmates. No pun intended.
So, went back to school for Fourplay! Got to say, it was really really great. The 'play within play' concept adopted was brilliant, and it's also very nice to see a light-hearted play that made me laugh. Well done Claire, Karl, Titus, Yikai (totally engaged in combat with Nabil haha), great acting! Lintong, omg nice dress which you made for Suvitha; I was looking at it then I remember: Oh, that was the cloth which I thought was for the piano cover. Cam, great work with the behind-the-scenes tech stuff (coz I really don't know your main scope, but duh you were obviously important!)
A very interesting class photo. Kuoying wanted everyone to pout, but only one-third ended up doing so booooo!
---
ok, in other random stuff,

  • I did a SAT practice paper today and I got a pathetic 1960. NEVER MIND, practice makes perfect and I'm going to hit 2250 by next month YES.
  • ANTM - This cycle's winner will not be a black. Yes, Tyra eliminated Joslyn. Shocking shocking. Remaining 6 still include SHEENA!
  • Double elimination on next week's Survivor, obviously to stop the dominating streak set by Kota. Come on, with Marcus&Charlie, WHO CAN BEAT KOTA?
  • Performing for Rafflesian Spotlight next wk, most likely singing something I feel which is meaningful to me. And yeah, back after a long performing hiatus.
  • Jennifer Hudson's mum and brother died. And that is scary.

I saw a middle-aged man almost die today. I was at Clementi MRT; I tapped my EZ-link card, and was about to take the escalator to the train platform. That man, was resting his head on the escalator railings. As he approached almost 3/4 of the entire escalator ride, his legs gave way, and he landed face flat on the step. That wasn't the end. He rolled 3 times [YES NO KIDDING 3 REVOLUTIONS] before lying horizontally on one of the step. The escalator was STILL MOVING. The worse part was that he continued tumbling down 3-4 more steps, and after that he came to a standstill. His eyes were just bulging open I thought he had died right before my eyes.

I was just 2 steps away before stepping onto the escalator. I just moved away, and 2 malay teenagers went right up to help him and they were really nice. But the man was still unconscious, with his eyes wide open and staring into space, not moving, not reacting. It was only after 1 million people surrounded him, and after the first aid kit came provided by the train security people, when he finally woke up and nudged a little. Didn't catch the rest of the details, because I was in the train already. One freaky experience.

It's Not Over. REALLY.

AAAAA!
Yeah, my foot.
I'm not putting my results here for everyone's viewing pleasure. Get it directly from the horses' mouth if you really want to know. But seriously, I no longer treat them with utmost importance and think that we should move on with life and do other more meaningful stuff.
  • To those with good grades (AAAAA or anything with 3As or more), good for you!

Go proclaim it on your Facebook account, put it on your MSN nickname, paste stickers all over your uniform telling everyone of your high IQ. Please be reminded to be humble after that and stop gloating over your stellar academic achievements. Not everyone appreciates what you're doing, and they'll be highly eager to watch you fall from grace for the next Common Test. But if you are getting 3As and are not doing the things prescribed as shown, I really take my hat off to you, because you're surely one respectable and humble person. I LIKE THAT.

  • To those with fairly decent grades, (with variations from BBBCC to CCDES and that is not my grade. like seriously. but I do consider that decent),

There's always room for improvement! I love this group of people the most because I can highly relate to them and we can all work together towards a common goal: To defeat those in the epitome of academic success. Our grades are decent enough not to get retained, but lack the glorious nature for us to proclaim it on all mediums of communication. This group of people can be further subdivided:

  1. The happy-go-lucky group of people. I place myself in this category. When I got my results back, I was happy. I was glad that this entire process was finally over, I was glad that the results exceeded my expectations, I was glad that I could be promoted. Simplest things in life make a simple person a happy person. Continue keeping this pace of improvement in my grades, and the 5As will be within reach. I know I can't push myself too hard, if not I'll just get pressurized like a rice cooker, and explode. ONE STEP AT A TIME, in the wise words of Jordin Sparks. Laugh it off, and move on.

  2. The hard workers who don't yield results they expect. This must really suck. Some people worked their butts off, in hopes of doing well, but somehow it doesn't paid off. I seriously don't know man. Try harder next time? Always push yourself to the limit, you can do it! Just don't give up and have that fighting spirit igniting passionately within you, and your efforts will be handsomely rewarded. Things might not have worked in your way now, you might have crumbled under pressure from your family and classmates. Convert this pressure into positive energy, and work towards better results in future! It's not the end of the world!
  • Those who really didn't do well (ESSUU, or something worse than that)

This wasn't what you expected because you worked so hard and yet nothing seemed to pay off. Alternatively, you really didn't put in the effort which you ought to (sometimes I feel this way). You had competitions, conferences, programmes, other commitments to attend to prior to Promos, but somehow time was just so lacking, you felt so drained out, you didn't feel like studying, or simply because you were spending your time on the computer playing games, smsing/calling people everyday. Surely you know you could have done so much better, but something went wrong. It's not for me to generalize you as 'a failure', because obviously no one is a failure.

Things just didn't work this time around, and perhaps getting retained, or even having to drop a subject, might ultimately affect your self-esteem, affect your social circles, affect your future. Who knows, in the long run, it might be beneficial for you to grasp the foundations, and perhaps the fateful decisions you're making now might serve beneficial to you eventually. Remember, whatever happens, we'll always be by your side. Who cares if you're my junior next year, the friendship remains, and I'll never look down on you. =)

Random musings:

  • Nothing foolish happened today, [you know, the murderous sort of foolishness, and that is definitely not the solution] just a lot of crying, whining, ranting, sobbing, and overwhelming periods of silence.
  • In short, today's atmosphere was VERY DIM, so dim nothing could redeem it. (hurhur.)
  • I got my first A grade for a Literature essay, and I just shrieked when I saw 17.5. (Ok go ahead. Laugh at me.)
  • Our class had 1 person passing Maths Promos (WELL DONE KENNETH, will you accept me as your apprentice?)
  • I like the notebook Nat made for HouseD, it's so fabulous I'm making it my 2008/09 notebook.
  • Today's HouseD meeting was totally random LOL.
  • I was really shocked at a piece of unfortunate news today. And that kept me thinking for 2 hours. What would I have done if I were in that situation?

19 October 2008

Whats Up This Week? NOTHING. It's ALL DOWN.

I dread tomorrow. It stinks.
I don't want to stay in RI(JC) for two more years, as much as I love the school.
Alright, part of it has to do with the name.
But my primary concern is that I don't want to get more than 1 U (besides Math, that is).
Ok, someone save me tomorrow. This is dreadful AHH!

Monday: BBHouseD Meeting
Tuesday: Teachers' Day Post-Mortem
Wednesday: OP Dry Run 2, Song&Dance Meeting
Thursday: Council GM
Friday: BBHH Double Trouble

You can do so much better than this

Winner of Project Runway (Season 5): Leanne Marshall!
Her wave-inspired collection at the final runway show at Bryant Park was gorgeous. Using 3 main colors of white, turquoise and cream, she came up with chic and masterfully crafted skirts, shorts, jackets, pants - all in the 10-piece collection. Her two competitors put on a tough fight - Kenley (despite her stinking attitude) had many beautifully hand-made floral prints on her dresses, but she was critiqued by the judges to copy the designs of famous designers like Alexander McQueen and Balenciaga, and was told to take a crash course of the History of Fashion. Korto centered her theme around nature. As usual, many nice clothes telling her life story and her ability to offer everybody a unique African culture, but she overworked some of her pieces and so came in 1st runner-up.
Geeky-looking Leanne Marshall and her winning model, Tia.
Despite being boring sometimes on screen, her talents saw her emerging victorious. She dodged all the drama, spared the audience with unnecessary crying and whining, and was only focused on ways to improve her craftsmanship throughout the season. Overall, this was a great season, with some memorables one being the Drag Queen challenge and the Rock Star challenge . Those who have not watched it, GO CATCH IT (though I obviously gave a major spoiler.)
---
It was a relief that GC (3rd from left, 2nd from right) was eliminated. I saw him eating a lizard on the CBS website in one of the featured videos. Obviously, that spells m-e-n-t-a-l-l-y u-n-s-t-a-b-l-e.
  • Randy was hilarious. Or rather, I was amazed at how he successfully told Ace to "freeze" at the immunity challenge, and the latter just obeyed his instructions, not realizing that his caller, Sugar is actually a girl and should, by right, possess a feminine voice.
  • Despite Sugar being a total retard at the IC, she must be the one having the last laugh, because by sending her to Exile Island, she effectively has more food than the people who won fruits for their Reward Challenge as she chose the 'Comfort' option upon her arrival there. She is going to get fat after Survivor.
  • Crystal might run fast, and might have won a Olympic medal, but she has no integrity. She ransacks other people's belongings without permission, and I don't think anyone likes that. GC should've argued with her more.
  • And of course, the bromance developed one step further.

16 October 2008

Singer, Winner, Player, Dancer.

'Britney Spears makes a near-maximum 96-1 rise with "Womanizer," returning to the top of the list for the first time since her debut single "...Baby One More Time" hit No. 1 in January 1999." - Billboard.

This also marks the biggest jump to No.1 in Billboard history. She also sets the record for the biggest opening-week tally by a female artist through download sales, garnering a total of 286,000 downloads. I'm so proud of Britney.

Louis predicts a landslide victory for Obama, a 54-46 win. He doesn't see any chances of McCain winning. Somehow the Hollywood just overtly displays their distaste for him, portraying him as someone who can't accept change, is going to precede with Bush's war regimes, doesn't know much about economics, and constantly switches his takes on issues.

The two videos below are that of Hayden Panettiere (Heroes) and Penn Badgley and Blake Lively (Gossip Girl). Brilliantly sarcastic I must say.

"Hi, I'm Hayden Panettiere, and I'm hot enough that I know I have your attention for at least 30 seconds.... He is just like George Bush, except older and with a worse temper."
---
Hodge Lodge damn fun man.
I'm the Boss: Michy and I basically closed our deals in like less than 10 seconds. But she closed a 20-million dollar deal on her own, so yeah you can guess who the winner was. 5 of A03Aers played, and we finished in like what, 20 minutes?
Gnome Toss: I can't remember how I bought this game. For the record, this game drove my cousins mad, my primary school friends mad, my secondary school friends mad, and now my class mad. As mad as Majide. I think I should bring this for Council Retreat.
Guitar Hero: I DIDN'T COMPLETE THROUGH THE FIRE AND FLAMES (Only completed 80% medium) AND I AM VERY SAD. Farhanah is damn pro at completing Hard songs. And A03A is damn pro at breaking all the records. Go play Guitar Hero at the Hodge Lodge and see how many games we owned LOL. Maybe only a LITTLE BIT hard to beat la.
---
[Note: To the J1s of 2009 coming to RJC (don't remind me about the new name, I'm NOT using that), do note that your batch dance will be simply fabulous, because 8 very fabulous people have completed the first portion of the dance and it is just VERY CRAZY AND FIEERRCE. I absolutely love it and I loved the 'Jerk It Out' people, and was highly astonished with our efficiency. =DD ] and woah, Cheryl's song was nice.
GO SONG AND DANCE!

14 October 2008

A New Haven Can Wait.

Dreams.
Everybody has them.
Some good, some bad;
Some you wish you could forget.
Sometimes you realize you've outgrown them;
Sometimes, you feel like they're finally coming true.
Some of us -- just have nightmares.

But no matter what you dream,
When morning comes --
Reality intrudes,
And the dream begins to slip away.
---

Haven't met Mrs Lee for a long time. So today she treated us to CHICKEN PIES during Civics! So besides eating, we had the highlight of the day: TABOO! Oh my god, super duper fun. It was very amusing to see people get stumped by my craftily crafted break-up of words. For example,
PC = Kuoying's good friend turn the other way.
Gel = A twisted leg.
Equator = A person who is able to solve 1 + 1
And I forgot what other lame things I said, can anyone help me out here. LOL.
I love my random photo because it completes the 3X3 square. It looks like Celebrity Squares, and I'm Whoopi Goldberg. I left out Seb! And Daveen was sick, but she says she can come school tomorrow so YAY!!
