30 July 2008Those tears aren't worth shedding, friends!
WHY SO SERIOUS ????
--------------------- anyway congrats wangye for your tabletennis achievement! (although you totally pulled off a 'Lee Jia Wei') and thanks michy and cheryl for coming down for IHC today! I feel like there's nothing to write, because a lot has been said HAHA. 29 July 2008MY LOWER CASE IS SPOILT TEMPORARILY.
CONGRATULATIONS TO KING KONG JANE FOR WINNING POWERJAM 2008!
CONGRATS KORKOR! OH MY GOD. I JUST SPENT THE LAST HALF HOUR DOING NOTHING BUT SMILE AT MYSELF. =DDDD The horror!
Floorball - 2 teams out of 8 in the quarter-finals from BB!
Well done floorballers! Even to the teams which didn't make the cut, you all didn't go down without a fight! What's even more respectable is that despite relentless contentions from opponents and spectators, you guys displayed what true sportsmanship is and fought tirelessly against what went your way, eventually winning with scorelines of 6-0, 7-0 in some games! So proud of you guys. In the words of the joker, WHY SO SERIOUS? IHC is about fun man!! 27 July 2008Can you hear me?25 July 2008I want to play Guitar Hero again!
Ok, besides shooting 3 arrows for archery, copying human geog notes furiously during lecture, and just another PW period, a few A03A'ers went to kuoying's house to play GUITAR HERO! Eh, it's super duper fun!And seriously, looking at how some people at the canteen are dancing on the DDR mat as though they're having fits, I'd rather play Guitar Hero!
After Subway lunch, went back to school to watch the ridiculous Science IHC finals, where BB came in 3rd. We were like 1st for a long long while, then there were some major change of events at the last stretch during Astronomy portion, and with the 3rd round, we dropped to 3rd! Nevertheless, THANKS TO ALL PARTICIPANTS AND SUPPORTERS! You guys displayed great sportsmanship and sheer determination and composure, and despite you guys trailing at the end of the 2nd round, you all were not fazed by the opponents' hysteric outbursts and instead stood your ground till the end. Kudos to that! =D Council GM ended the day, or rather, dinner at J8 food court. On the way home, something classic happened. I was thinking about PW, what I had to do by tonight... just as I was in a deep train of thought, my handphone rang. *Phone rings* Louis: "Hello?" Girl: "Hello?" Louis: (thinks it's kuoying over the other line as her voice bears so much resemblance to kuoying's) "Eh wait wait, I'm on the way home already. I'm in the bus." Girl: "Huh?" Louis: "I had council GM what! I'm coming back already. I'll send you the stuff through email." Girl: "Er, I'm Yvonne from Boon Lay Youth Club." *Louis died of humiliation* -------------------- Katee and Twitch - Mercy (Contemporary) Comfort and Mark - Party People (Hip Hop) 24 July 2008Jiro. This was taken last week. Yes, Britney is back to her pretty sane self.Ok, hardlyeven have the time to blog about things these days. Just 10 random thoughts that are flashing through my mind now: 1) BB's gonna get first 2) I ate greentea-milktea-milkchoc japanese icecream in school 3) I broke Val's record [71!] LOL 4) I like to play Frisbee these days (it's really fun) 5) DDR was retarded, can't believe how some people stayed and played there for 10 years 6) I love to do math questions! 7) I can't believe I just said that. 8) No one from A03A is in Lit Dean's List which totally sucks. Never mind, we'll trounce the list by promos! 9) Listening to kuoying and farhanah rant about guitar hero's freaking funny. 10) I still can't forget the Sun Wu Kong Performance. and the laughing demonstration. and the 'U' grade grammar. 22 July 2008Up up up!
IHC BEGINS!
19 July 2008Johoom Bahabah JhoomHaha, oh my god, first episode of Big Brother 10 = Fabulous. First episode of Project Runway 5 = Fabulous. Yay, reality TV is back!!! 17 July 2008Dear parent had no surname.
Oh well, it's rather uncanny that my email inbox was flooded with messages that shared my sentiments in my previous post. (You know, the 'people-are-starting-to-float-away-and-its-dragging-the-whole-synergy-down' thoughts starting to surface when half of the term isn't even over yet.)
--------------- The Most Eye-twitching Suggestion of the Year: To close the school gates at 8pm so that Councillors will not stay back too late. - A parent. I love my dad for PTM today, not only did he attend it despite the inconveniences, he also made the most intelligent and well-thought comment. *smiles* --------------- On a sidenote, I think I've been putting in more for council than for my studies (compared to the lacklustre results I got for CT, I think I get at least a B for Council work LOL). Someone has got his priorities totally wrong HAHA. I'll adjust. I WILL and I MUST! --------------- Waterfeste and Vocal Exploits tomorrow. PEOPLE PLEASE ATTEND! --------------- HUH MR LOW LEFT RI? OK I AM VERY SAD!!! WHY SO FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still thought of visiting him after Teachers' Day Celebrations! 15 July 2008For all that flak.
Oh well, today didn't turn out as bad as expected!
In fact, it was sure fun! Morning started out really sluggish and boring, everyone was so tired and bored. ---------------------------- Tomorrow's the BANGBANGDAY! House Assembly + Campfire Performance + IHC Chinese Cultural + Project Work! (Ok the last one is obviously a lie) ---------------------------- Dinner with wangye made me reflect on some things. Is it really worth it, to sacrifice so much time for council? To be honest, I don't regret a teeny bit about committing myself to this. Some people may still be doubtful about their decisions, but indeed, I know this is what I have chosen, and I'm going to be true to myself, fulfil my duties and not disappoint the people who voted me in. Only when you give it your 100% would you learn much more about yourself, and others. 1 year may seem short, but the rewards you can take away from is something words can't describe. I used to be very critical of people in the past; they not putting as much effort as they should, not contributing as much as others... Now, when I think about it, I ask myself: What's the point of bothering so much about what others do? So long as I know I've done my best to help an organization in achieving their aims, so long as others put in the amount they should be putting in, things will never go wrong, and the people you're working with would have a much more harmonious working environment. Yet, as a matter of fact, some people don't share the same train of thought! It's disappointing when you see some people in an organization go astray (This is where Diseconomies of Scale set in). You're slogging your guts out for something, yet the other person appears to be doing nothing! You start thinking: Why does he, at the end of the day, get the same credit that I get? All I know is that the means to which you're achieving that recognition is different. People would definitely view you differently from that other person. In fact, those who appear as if they're doing nothing may be as eager as others in contributing to the organization, but they might have other commitments, or lack the means to do so. It may be frustrating for them at times; not knowing what to do and being critiqued as a slacker as a result. But they can't just go on whining and giving the same excuses. Obviously, they have to get out of that pit and help themselves. That's why organizations come together at the start of their term to set out boundaries and job scopes for each and every member, so that everyone would be a useful asset towards the progress of the organization. What sucks, however, is how people don't abide by these job scopes, and end up not fulfilling even their primary duties. It's even worse if you need them terribly to do something within a given timeframe, yet they seem to be uncontactable (In other words, MIA.) I recall vividly how a few months back, everyone was so passionate about their CCAs, wanting to sell their souls to the CCA, yet when they don't get an EXCO position, you surprisingly see their passion simmer just like that. And for some who are given the honor of leading their CCA, they ultimately rest on their laurels and stay satisfied with what they have, and do a terrible job in leading their team. What's the point then, to be so determined in running for a particular position, when ultimately, you don't live up to what you promised? Things are getting really political these days. And I'm starting to see this really big picture which I didn't once see. Oh man, I don't know what's gotten into me today. 14 July 2008Did I get myself into all this shit?
Ok, first things first.
Life is damn retarded because I have to swap my Welfare Duty permanently. WHY? Because I have to attend the Maths Remedial Lessons AHH. This is so stupid please. Hope I can find a kind-hearted soul who can swap with me. ANYONE KIND HEARTED ENOUGH PLEASE TELL ME I WILL BE ETERNALLY GRATEFUL! ------------------- Surprisingly, I didn't screw my CTs that majorly after all. I only failed Math. Have at least a D in every other subject, so that's something to cheer about. But I have no As, so nothing to cheer about once again. ------------------- Tomorrow is a very crappy day full of nonsense meetings. 1) I have to meet Kelvin for APCG Campfire Rehearsals at 3pm 2) I have to be present at Grassroots Pubs Meeting at 4.15pm. 3) I have to be present at Teachers' Day Meeting at 5pm. 4) I have to be present for HouseD meeting at 6pm for House Assembly preparations. 5) I have to be present for the Teachers' Day audition. Amidst that, I have to finish my PW Group EOM nonsense. After all that jazz, I have to go home and ensure all the administrative matters are ready for House Assembly tomorrow. I NEVER FELT SO WANTED! 12 July 2008PowerJam Finalists11 July 2008Call him irresponsible.
EVERY FRIDAY IS A PIZZAHUT DAY.
Workday today was fun! It somewhat culminated in StepMania/SpeedTyping and eating lousy chocolate *SNIGGERS*. Ok, this means that it wasn't as productive as we hoped it to be, SO A LOT OF THINGS TO DO ON SUNDAY. Next week will be a killer week, with compilation of all the IHC particulars. M-A-D-N-E-S-S. **So, if you see any HouseD councillor saying they're very free, it's obvious they're slacking LOL** ----------------------------------- Random muse: Ok, my marks aren't that bad after all [CUD isn't as bad as SUSU sia]. So I should have faith in myself. ----------------------------------- Thanks for telling the whole class that we were initially going to St James, but no longer is going because erm some people never read instructions clearly? Seriously, thanks ah! 09 July 2008I need an oxygen tank tomorrow.
General Paper: C [59/100]
Thoughts: Ok, this is disastrously bad, considering my GP has all along been pretty ok. The lousy grade's due to my misinterpretation of the essay question. ---- Literature: Hanging on to a C Just praying that I don't die terribly for the Wilfred Owen question. I was kinda half-sad-half-relieved, because at least I didn't fail my first Lit examination essay. (ok I can't use this excuse anymore) But oh well, it's obviously not a very pretty grade too. Some people whom I thought would've done better didn't do so well, BUT CHEER UP OK! IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD AND YOU MIGHT ACE OWEN! --- Went for BLYC meeting and left halfway because i had welfare duty, or maybe i thought i had. haha, either way i left early. and i of course didn't regret making that decision, because i bumped into karliang, and we decided to spend the rest of the day at Hodge Lodge, and exercised our hands and arms playing Wii Tennis for like 10 years. and of course, it's quite glorifying to win by a scoreline of 13-1 matches ah LOL. --- 08 July 2008You're not color blind. I just changed my blogskin colour.
