31 March 2008The WOLL is spinning around.
thanks 09a03a for comforting me today. got you guys worried. guess there was so much stuff around my head it was on the verge of exploding, but well now that it exploded, i'm back to my sane insane self haha!
ahhh and i haven't done top 20 for the past wk. i guess ill give it a pass since i haven't really heard music for a while. =( VOTE FOR WOLL OK! WOLLipop Land!So nice right! OMG!!! Very proud of team. =) Bottomline: VOTE FOR WOLL! Wang Ye. Clarissa Ong. Louis Lim. Lee Yu Zhou. ---------------------------------- have been partciularly busy over the weekend. in fact, i JUST REACHED home an hour ago from RI after odyssey of the mind (the girls are still in school finishing up the props but i really was quite tired from the banner of council fixtures and banners so yeah i left first). on a sidenote, i'm really proud of what the choir ppl have come up with so far and i feel that OMG i need to start helping after the elections period! feel so bad la! but yay my grp most likely not doing the canteen rally so i guess i can go for the busking sessions. wooo~ 28 March 2008Wolls have ears that'll listen to you!
Hey there!
Well, i have been busy with council for the past few days, but this has really got to be my priority! I guess it'll really be a journey worthwhile, but of course would be even more fruitful if you guys elect me as your friendly councillor (as well as my WOLL team!) To OMT, Yuzhou and I will make up for our absence over the next few days ok! We miss you too. so hang in there! You see, the campaigning process managed to bring out the artistic talent in a not-so-artistically-inclined individual, like me. look at the 2 lovely fixtures i managed to come up with in 3 hours. till then, i need to catch some sleep. zzz~~~ 26 March 2008WOLL without strangers.vote for WOLL, and you'll be guaranteed lifetime WOLLranty! look at the time.
i am still awake.
*wolls eyes* 24 March 2008New Soul
My nerves got me for the whole of today; From the time where we played concentration in ri canteen, to econs lesson where we haven't completed the MCQ worksheet after 3 lessons, to being baffled as usual during math, to how we laughed at 'Kentucky Friend Chicken' and 'The Problem is Many' during GP.
Well, all that anticipation was worth the wait. I am so glad to have made it. I shall contain that happiness for a while longer, for it has not fully materialized and hopefully will do so in 2 weeks' time. On a sidenote, preparations over the next 2 weeks will be intense. 23 March 2008Do you know? It's....
TOMORROW!
Week 12 (17th March - 23rd March 2008)the failed attempt to crush our structure!!! haha, but oh well, this isn't the end! as for props and script and spontatneous, at last we're coming up with some gr8 stuff! 1) 4 Minutes - Madonna feat. JT & Timbaland 2) Break The Ice - Britney Spears 3) New Soul - Yael Naim 4) Rockferry - Duffy 5) Little Bit - Lykke Li 6) Dance Like There's No Tomorrow - Paula Abdul 7) So High - Marc Thomas 8) I'm Yours - Jason Mraz 9) Nine In The Afternoon - Panic! Quite an eye-opener, and was pretty surprised at how the whole ceremony is so well-organized and elaborate. I think an estimated 1000 people were there? --------- Isabelle complaining that I made a bad recommendation for her choice of drink, which was Ice Lemon Tea, which wasted her $1.10. HAHA. She decided, Oh well, I shall just experiment with my pipetting skills instead, transferring her tea to my empty cup, which I eventually drank from it. I love J1 chorale lunches, because we just sing from school to bishan w/o acknowledgment of our surroundings HEE~~ 20 March 2008Back to the USSR Why is Carly in the bottom 3? Why is Amanda eliminated? Why is Ramiele still safe week after week despite not producing any memorable performances? Why is Kristy still in the competition after being in the bottom two for 3 consecutive weeks? A real disappointing decision made by America.Don't know why, but for the whole morning I was stoning and staring in space, unlike my interesting self. But i guess having the opportunity to play the role of Xiaxue for the mock public forum on media censorship perked me up a little. And I did a great job portraying her ok with my incredibly well-substantiated arguments. Maths before that helped reset my sanity. Running around RI + RJ for PE drove me nuts, though I didn't really care since home was my next destination. Finally starting on Othello! 19 March 2008Day tripper
double lit periods were spent watching people get blown by shells and completing some questions from othello's 1st act. gp was spent talking about xiaxue. project work was spent boggling over the 2 questions for 2008, journeys and modernization, both of which aren't particularly exciting. chorale was spent rotating positions intermittently, trying to reach for my toes, and hoping i can be heard audibly.
idol took a very unorthodox turn today. instead of the performances captivating me, the contestants' comments turned out to be the interesting ones instead. the way brooke seemed so peeved about everything which is so unlike her, the way amanda and carly rebutted simon, believing so firmly that what they are doing is what they want, seeing how syesha pulled herself out of the depths... a value-added episode today. i don't see how kristy lee cook is going to last any longer, so i guess she's out, along with michael johns and ramiele malubay rounding up the bottom 3. 17 March 2008The New Mariah Carey: E = MC2and the next one is the winner of bulgarian idol doing I will always love you. for a moment i thought bulgaria was located in India. 16 March 2008Week 11 (10th March - 16th March 2008)
1) 4 Minutes To Save The World - Madonna feat. Justin Timberlake and Timbaland
2) Rockferry - Duffy 3) I'm Yours - Jason Mraz 4) Leavin' - Jesse McCartney 5) Hollywood's Not America - Ferras 6) Disco Lies - Moby 7) Shine - Anna Nalick 8) Sweet and Low - Augustana 9) Run - Gnarls Barkley 10) Nine In The Afternoon - Panic! At the Disco 11) Mercy - Duffy 12) In Love With A Girl - Gavin DeGraw 13) All Alone - Chris Richardson 14) Never Going Back to OK - The Afters 15) Medicine Man - The Hush Sound 16) Supernatural Superserious - REM 17) So High - Marc Thomas 18) Dance Like There's No Tomorrow - Paula Abdul 19) Reinforce Love - Lee Ryan 20) Say - Ryan Cabrera Ok, from today onwards, the auto-songs you hear on my blog will be songs performed by Idol contestants. 15 March 2008See it shine
J1 Choir prac was fun today! though it's surprisingly slightly more tiring than normal practices, probably because there were like only 2 bass 2s and i couldn't really slack off anytime haha. the 3:1 gender ratio was rather notable too. so a group of us went to j8 to have lunch before heading to om meeting!
nothing really exciting today except for the fact that i overslept while taking the train home, so the train stopped at jurong east and i was still asleep, and i woke up when it reached yewtee, which was 5 stops away. goodness. and yeah, i'm also watching American Idol, ANTM Cycle 10, Big Brother 9 and Survivor: Micronesia. i need more reality tv lobangs! haha!! ----------------- my current maid, tika (left) is leaving for indonesia tmr morning!! =( my future maid's the one on the right and she's called anisa! say goodbye and hello!14 March 2008I like to chi, pong, gang, and HU!
Ok back after 3 days. Was trying to find the music blogs which i often frequent, and to my utter horror, all the music blogs on blogspot have been taken down. so that's kinda frustrating because there won't be music updates for a long long while..
alright, so this post begins with wednesday (happy birthday melodie, and haha you know chelsea too!), arrived at bbtown to make some preparations for the BB photoboard. see it looks so nice! though there was a disappointing number of 10-12 ppl out of the 70-strong grassroots helping out, we still managed to complete our intended design (w/o photos) of a golf course with cute ponds and bunkers haha! alright, so i left for tanah merah mrt to meet 4j peeps + wenjian/reynard/yuzhou and others for chalet after purchasing othello. it was still pouring so yeah got kinda wet when we arrived the bungalow house. and of course, every chalet starts off with a game of monopoly!! but soon, you realize that one game is very long and it often results in everyone quitting the game prematurely haha. anyway, after that we decided to (i can't remember chronologically anymore) go to the arcade (i was damn pro at puzzle fighter man), have some games of bowling (played 4 games in all: 116,110,136,113), played a few games of pool (the 2 games with karliang was really hilarious), played air hockey and many many rounds of mahjong (yes, i finally know most of the standard procedures of the money thing) yeah, we also watched idol on tv and i still can't believe david hernandez is out although VFTW says he should be. he was after a great vocalist despite all the nonsense he did. KKKristy Lee Cook is just plain BORING. and of course, we barbecued for 2 nights, accompanied with many other games like taboo, risk, gnome toss, cardgames like the name-calling one and many more!! it was a really really fun 3 days. alaric is covering his nose because methane can be detected in the room. and also, luwen is sleeping beneath those sheets in the foreground. all these coins on the right is one of the attractions in the arcade called New Penny Falls. Basically, its a gambling game where you slot a token in, hoping that the machine would knock out more tokens. (didn't work out most of the time for us LOL) took a last minute group photo at the MRT (realized we didn't take a proper GROUP PHOTO! SADNESS~~~) ok, so after that, went to bedok mrt to meet up with OM team for meeting! took bus to zhiwei's house where we made props and had spontanteous problem session (was really funny) there, you can see zhiwei and yuzhou hard at work trying to piece together the hairdo for the evil stepsister. as though not full enough from the kfc lunch, zhiwei's mother took great lengths to buy for us sushi and more kfc and also unlimited supply of nice drinks and ice-cream!!!!! so nice of her =) but i was really really really full thats why my =O face. so generous of her that i felt really bad haha. but at least our work today was productive, so yay!! oh yes, and if you know how to play Around the World in 80 Days, this is how we managed to make zhiwei realize her slow realization of the trick of this game. we told her to list down all the places she went by listing them out one by one. It was really interesting to see her reaction. but i got scammed for some games also, like the string string one! at least i know that trick now wahaha. Idol Top 12![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is how I predict their standings are. Let's see if i'm right lol! Eliminated: David Hernandez, Amanda Overmyer. In order of elimination (Last updated 20/03/2008): Kristy Lee Cook, Syesha Mercado, Ramiele Malubay, Chikezie Eze, Michael Johns, Jason Castro, Carly Smithson, Brooke White, David Archuleta, David Cook. 12 March 2008It's all coming back to me nowAlrighty! haven't been updating. the march holidays have and will be pretty jampacked! Had OM meeting on monday at olly's house, nothing much to say, just that our progress is going on quite well now. Went for singing at night, and yeah it was definitely better than tuesday's haha. Today was michelle's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! om team bought a chantilly cake (look at how we placed the candles) from breadtalk and a tigger for the fabulous om group leader! had lunch at pizza hut. got caught in the rain while walking to olly's house, met up with danielle, and we managed to work on some designs and props (they went to buy the paint and all in the morning, when i was having sectionals at yisheng's house with wuyang and lionel haha. was very fun indeed) 09 March 2008Wade in the Water / Pets Corner / Recording Session
This morning started rough.
It was 9am, I alighted at the bus stop near RJ sidegate, thinking that I was just in time for chorale. And well, the RJ sidegate was LOCKED. Ok, never mind, I went to the RI sidegate. It's LOCKED too! I attempted to enter through the collabarium, and of course, it's LOCKED! So I took one whole big loop around the campus and arrived for sectionals 20 minutes later, feeling somewhat sweaty and in complete astonishment with myself. Just one of those days. Well, I finally managed to memorize some of the choir pieces, perhaps we keep on drilling the few songs so much so you're so familiarized with it after a while. that aside, had lunch with amy, yihui and huiyi at Top of the 8 (Oh, it's somewhere in J8, very nice scenery and ambience) and was subsequently accompanied by J2s + wuyang/cheryl. So left early with huiyi to MRT, and I met OM team (yuzhou, zhiwei, michelle, olly) at yiochukang before taking a bus to Olly's house! She has 2 dogs (Kristy and Johnny) and a roaming cat called Andy. They are all really adorable and human-like (especially when they kept on yelping when Olly started playing the piano). However, after today, I am so convinced i'm not getting either a cat or a dog because : 1) I have no time to take care of myself, lest take care of animals 2) I find it uncomfortable that animals are roaming your entire house like strangers 3) As much as they are really really cute (and i genuinely think they are!!), I'm afraid i might lose interest in their cuteness after a while (you know, the fad dies off) 4) I'm afraid i might kill them unknowingly (like step on them, sit on them, and squash them) Yeah, so it's better that I not keep any pets. ---------------------------- After spending time on the script (which i thought wasn't as fruitful as yesterday, though we watched some youtube clips and surfed some websites for ideas) and having macaroni on dinner, i left for recording session at somewhere near lavender. I totally got lost because I had to alight the taxi early(couldn't keep yuzhou and zhiwei waiting haha) and attempt to find my way there. tried calling kelvin and couldn't get through and I almost screamed my head off because i was rather tired from walking for 20 minutes aimlessly, but i ultimately got a call from amy and YES i reached echo music. HAPPY!! Did the Buckley Song (it's newly retitled as Yong You) and yay my voice was in good condition and the vocal teacher seemed pleased, so that's a good sign! We had a mass singing session for the backup vocals and I guess everyone was rather excited haha. All in good fun! from Top Left, Clockwise: Jiayue, Kelvin, Minzhe, QuanWei, Guangyu, Yekai, Louis, Amy. reached home at 12.30am. haha (luckily amy's father fetched me to clementi mrt yay thanks amy!) Week 10 (3rd March - 9th March 2008)1) I'm Yours - Jason Mraz 07 March 2008Yesterday and Today. YesterdayWent to school early in the morning to take my pencilcase+waterbottle+choirscores from kialiang, because I was so muddleheaded to not bring them home after wednesday's choir prac (partly because i left my seat when the choir wished me happy b'day and i was too excited, hence i didn't return to my original seat and instead packed my stuff and left for dinner LOL). i ATTEMPTED to do maths at HML, but it failed miserably so i decided to just go home and chill before meeting up 09A03A for dinner @ billybombers! purchased some logistics stuff at j8 for the BB designboard b4 that. i had a set meal consisting of erm SOTD, honeychicken, cookies n' cream milkshake and cookies n' cream icecream. THEY SO DIDN'T TELL ME THAT THE DESSERT OF THE DAY was the same flavor as my beverage! Hence, i was magmanimous enough to offer sebby (the one with the gap) my icecream. then, after returning from the washroom, i saw a birthday cake on the table and haha I KNEW IT! but of course, i had to give a 'oh-my-god-are-you-for-real-you-mean-you-bought-me-a-cake-omg-i-am-like-so-happy' expression before settling down to blow the candles and cut the cake. [and sebby, i loved the moment when you used the candle to burn the soot out of the Patra plate] Haha, but jokes aside, thanks Valerie and Lin Tong and whoever who planned for this surprise birthday celebration for seb and i. really appreciated it. =) Ok, so some peeps had to leave early, and the rest of us headed for DBS Arts Theatre in a FRENZY. it was 10 minutes before the commencement of the play, and we were still at CENTRAL! So, we hailed a cab (which wasn't of much use due to huge traffic) [and the light in my room just freaking flickered] and paid a grand total of $9 for moving 1km.Oh yes, and the play [izzit entitled Black Comedy?] was really great. a lot of jokes and puns, interesting theatrical effects, great costume and make-up, and of course an overall witty storyline. kudos to those involved in it! so left home after the play, thanks Daveen for the lift back! Great to know more ppl living in the West now. woo! Today OM DAY!!! Woke up to michelle's call on 'how to open the number lock?' LOL. hilarious. went to clementi MRT to fetch everyone and hiked for 15+ minutes before reaching mas kuning terrace. think today's meeting was productive, and we have a new member quli! her design for fairy godmother is just...astounding. had pizza hut for lunch at home! |
