P6 Class Gathering at pei-yi's house was great! it's so wonderful to have almost half the class reuniting after 4 years. haha played some bridge, played some mahjong, caught up on old times, and talked about what's coming up in JC years. thanks pei-yi for initiating such a fabulous gathering!
sadly i had to leave the gathering early as i was headed for choir farewell cum alumni reunion @ design center! heard i missed the review and reflect portion, but nevertheless all was great! played some silent heart attack, met up with some seniors, had nonstop card-gaming fun with the choristers. and of course, the day ended with really touching performances by the batches from sec 1-3. what other way to end than to sing Amigos Para Siempre. =)
i guess it didn't dawn upon me at that moment in time that that would be the last time i'd be wearing that RV shirt (ok maybe i'll wear it at home).
i really appreciated the lovely tiny bottle that daniel cheong gave me, so sweet of him. kudos to the EXCO for making the effort to design the photo frames for us sec 4s. thanks yaoyuan for that really lovely sms. but the one thing that made my heart wrench was the message within the dequalinium box ben low gave me on behalf of the sops.
chriszhao, myself, benlow. so reminiscent of the photo we took last yr during chris' farewell.
I have a nice orientation group name. It's called TUVWXYZ.
I think it can rival Thankyouforshoppingat7-Eleven and Ticktockcurrypok. LOL.
This is incredible man.
OG FRENZY, HERE WE COME.

Alaric, Sadikin, Karl and I went for a light retail therapy at Queensway Shopping Centre yesterday! Got myself a pair of kappas and a converse pencil case which alaric was eyeing too, while alaric got a few Prince apparels along with Karl, and of course sadikin decided to be a thrifty boy. haha!
alaric and i undergoing our 1st physiotherapy session
As we travelled and walked, we talked about almost anything and everything -- from how karl decided to take a non-comfortdelgro taxi to maria sharapova to alaric's primary intent of kayaking.
highly satisfied shopaholics
and of course, we ended the day at the cinileisure arcade, where karl and i played DDR (and i survived 5 stages of 'trick' difficulty!). we also played those spot-the-difference games (it's obviously better when you have more eyes to play that game) oh and what's complete without an air hockey showdown! HAHA.
And this is why.
21 December 2007
Help. i'm addicted to Ashlee Simpson's latest single "Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya)". Another Timbaland production. my gosh.
19 December 2007
NBC has this choir talent-scouting competition, where 5 musical superstars (Kelly Rowland, Nick Lachey, Blake Shelton, Patti LaBelle, Michael Bolton) go back to their hometown to recruit people to form a hometown choir, after which those 5 choirs will battle it out in a 'live' performance show in Hollywood. Pretty cool, i'd say!
Oh, for your info, Nick Lachey's choir won the competition. Patti LaBelle's choir came in 2nd, while Blake Shelton's took 3rd place.
18 December 2007
Winner of Survivor: China : Todd Herzog!!!!
The person who inspired me to wear the red shirt and black vest at grad nite haha.
I so predicted he'd win since Episode 1. He played the role of a scheming character, but never failed to wiggle out of trouble every time when he knew he was on the chopping block. Guess thats why he got 4 out of the 7 votes from the jury (Courtney received 2 from Frosti and Denise, while Amanda got one from Erik), even getting votes from James and Jean-Robert, whom he backstabbed big time. Haha, so glad that he won, but was kinda happy for Courtney too, since she came in runner-up!
Great, great season. (though i still feel that Peih Gee deserves the 100k from the fans, instead of James, who played the game so stupidly)
17 December 2007
I still can't believe how 4 million people outvoted 1.2 billion people.
and my toes are still laughing quite hard. the judges must be totally stunned.
but well, I personally thought Hady did well during the performance show. It was either him or Jaclyn in my opinion at the start. Mike is too Ruben Studdard, Mau can't win because she's just a power diva that perhaps doesn't have public support. India's just random, and Vietnam's Phuong Vy's really nice and all, but just don't think she can connect with the audience.
So well, kudos to Hady! LOL. But i sincerely hope he didn't win because of SECOND votes. LOL.
This should have been a SEA Games Event.
and Kudos to Yvonne Lin for winning Best Actress at the Star Awards! she soooo deserved it.
15 December 2007
And this shall be a recap of all the winners for this year's reality programmes!
New twists in this season included the huge disparity of comfort and supplies in the two campsites, where one tribe lives in luxury, while the other struggles with only a water well and machete.
With the exception of Yau-man's quirky disposition and his marvellous feat at winning so many immunity challenges (He was also the first person ever to send himself to Exile Island), this season was a letdown in terms of entertainment value. One good thing was that it managed to dispute all the stereotypical mindsets about Asians in general, with Stacy, Michelle and Yau-man all performing exceptionally well in Fiji.
Winner: Earl Cole
Runners-up: Cassendra Franklin and Andria "Dreamz" Herd
Personal Favorite: Yau-Man Chan
The Amazing Race: All-Stars
"Oh My God, The Teletubbies Go To War" – Oswald
This 11th instalment witnessed contestants of past seasons coming back for a shot at $1 million. I personally enjoyed this season, being able to see some teams i love competing again. I'm not as crazy about Amazing Race as i am for survivor though. =)
Winners: Eric and Danielle
Runners-up: Dustin and Kandice, Charla and Mirna
Personal Favorites: Oswald and Danny, Charla and Mirna
American Idol 6
Loved this season. I was always so eager to know the elimination results that i had to run to the library after PE lessons to see if Blake was still in haha against the big divas (Melinda "No-Neck" Doolittle, and KiKi, and Jordin, the eventual winner). And of course, the most controversial personality, Sanjaya Malakar, is still remembered fondly in everyone's hearts. There were many impactful performances by the contestants, including Blake's "You Give Love a Bad Name", Lakisha's "This ain't a love song", and Jordin's "I Who Have Nothing".
Winner: Jordin Sparks (whose album has sold at least 220000 copies after 3 weeks)
Runner-up: Blake Lewis (whose album sold 98000 copies in its debut week)
Personal Favorite: Blake Lewis
America's Next Top Model (Cycle 7)
According to WikiPedia, this was the most watched season, averaging 5.13 million viewers per episode. I loved this season as well, the level of competition, level of bitchiness, and the photo shoots were all adequate (some cycles' bitching drive me nauseous). Some funny moments were Monique getting disqualified at that elevator reward and subsequently took 'revenge' by whining on the phone for hours, CariDee accidentally stepping on Melrose's dress at the final runway, how Anchal became this season's Gina, how dejected Brooke was when she was eliminated on the day of her high school graduation... Oh, and who could forget how brilliant the twins Amanda and Michelle were at photo shoots.
Winner: CariDee English
Runner-up: Melrose Bickerstaff
Personal Favorites: CariDee English and Brooke Miller
America's Next Top Model (Cycle 8)
This season was pretty average. Though i can vividly remember Jaslene's great Weirdo photo, that was gorgeous. And of course, Brittany's whining after her disqualification for being late at the go-see drove viewers up the wall. The episode where they had to do past cycle representations was pretty interesting too. THe final runway, which revolved around the theme "Evolution", was rather disappointing though.
Winner: Jaslene Gonzalez
Runner-up: Natasha Galkina
Personal Favorite: Renee Alway
America's Next Top Model (Cycle 9)
This season was a rather "blah" one too. The contestants were just too peaceful, making the whole show very dull. Although there were glimpses of bitching in the first few episodes (instigated by Bianca and Saleisha), they knew continuous catfights won't bring them far. The international destination was Beijing and Shanghai, China, leaving me puzzled as to why is China like the "in" thing this year. The most outstanding contestant had to be Heather, who suffers from a mild Asperger syndrome, but still takes outstanding photos, though she was eventually eliminated due to communication improprieties.
Winner: Saleisha Stowers
Runner-up: Chantal Jones
Personal Favorite: Jenah Doucette
Shows yet to end its run: Project Runway 4 (11 designers left), The Amazing Race 12 (5 teams left) and Survivor: China (Season Finale taking place on Monday)

“It's important to remember that artists can do way more on their own these days, so in my opinion you should have a whole lot going on before talking to any labels. You want to get to the point where labels are coming to you. That is when artists have the leverage to make interesting deals with record labels.”

Season finale's in 2 days and peih-gee's definitely a warrior. denise is one strategicless player who pretty much doesn't know what gratitude is (since she didn't invite peih-gee for any of the rewards she won despite peih-gee inviting her to the shaolin retreat experience when she won one reward challenge). doesn't she know she'll eventually get screwed in the final four??? good grief.
and i liked todd's response to jeff's question at tribal council.
Jeff: "If you could take somebody that would be a shoo-in you would beat, or another person that might be a tougher competitor, but definitely deserves that chance at a million dollars? Which way would you go?"
Todd: "With a million dollars on the line, you gotta look at yourself and say "Who am i going to beat?" in the finals, not "Who played a fantastic game that would probably kick my ass"."
Very well said. indeed a schemer, but a strategist at the same time haha.
Project runway was pretty touching today. I'm referring to Cycle 4, Episode 5. If that's too advanced for you, you can catch it on youtube by subscribing to this person http://www.youtube.com/888772.
LMFAO. i just watched the season finale of America's Next Top Model Cycle 9. Since the overseas destination was Beijing, their final walkway was some Royal Fashion Show which was near the Forbidden City. Super awkward looking at all the china soldiers staring at the two finalists. but well, rihanna won the competition eventually. LOL. oops spoiler spoiler. i wanted jenah to win la.. grrr.
the funniest part was when chantal was walking down the runway, her long drape coming from her dress got entangled into a china guy who was performing on stilts, and as a result he tripped and fell pretty badly.
"I just hope that... you know...I didn't break character too much, and I still had a good walk..." - Chantal.
Ahh.... blake's album Audio Day Dream debuted at #10 on billboard 200, and its exactly the same spot as jordin on her debut week. sheesh. jordin's languishing at 24 after 3 weeks.

ok back from Penang KL 15 hours ago. LOL.
i've been busy uploading photos from 3 different cameras, uploading them on Facebook, ignoring facebook requests, watching episodes of survivor/amazing race/project runway, and getting ready for my song tomorrow. so before i start on that last task, i shall keep this blog alive.
if you guys wanna view my photos in KL/Penang, please visit my facebook photo album. i'm too lazy to painstakingly upload them here ONE BY ONE. (blogger so has to do something)

basically ate and travelled, travelled and ate, slept and ate, travelled and slept. oh yea thats about it. but it was really fun, vacationing with dad mum and korkor.
and the retail outlets in the shopping centres of penang and KL are pretty much similar to Singapore's, just that most of the stuff they sell are slightly cheaper, so its a good place to shop for some shoes and apparel.
and i only knew of Asian Idol on the malaysian tv, and hady's participating lol. wonder if mediacorp would promote the show.
random note: avril's 'hot' lyrics are really HOT.
