Jampacked

ooh i love this holidays.
ReSERVed today was great, and being the last choir concert i'll ever be performing (yes i've made the decision), it was quite a blast.

still used to remember the very first time i entered choir in sec 1, my preconcieved notion of the cca was that "ok, so i'm going to sing hallelujah praise god to the glory i love jesus songs", and true enough, today's encore performance was Hallelujah. couldn't be any less ironic.

and so, that marked the end of my time in Raffles Voices. i have loved each and every moment of it, and i'm sure looking forward to bigger things to come in future.

thanks bennett for the ball, thanks greg for the ferrero! thanks daddy, mummy, korkor, huihui, charlene, jiawei for attending today's concert (knowing the timing was extremely awkward).

after the concert, jiajun chenhoon shiaoyen and i walked all the way to marina square, where we settled down at some jap restaurant which took us QUITE a while to locate it. food was ok, except for the fact that the waitress spilled lukewarm green tea onto my white pants. thank god the green tea was somewhat diluted, meaning no obvious stains on my pants wahaha.

talked some stuff, and sure we talked enough, and went to roam around marina square, where jiajun found this beads/tiles section in the bearyhip shop where u could use tiles to decorate boxes and present it as gifts for yr friends, who may be going overseas. and after much 1 hour of pondering in the shop, WE FINALLY LEFT THE SHOP. =D

ok, for now, i'm going to sleep.
going with wenjian yuzhou and lionel to watch enchanted tmr!

the very best time of the year

today was the last combined practice in LT3.

i'll miss the times...
i'll miss the enjoyable camps and the concerts,
i'll miss the tedious practices that normally ends at 7,
i'll miss gabriel's reactions to linan's swearings lol,
i'll miss how edward and i alter the lyrics of songs to contain certain innuendos,
i'll miss jia rong's super-effective massages (and ryan's too!) and his bouncy stomach haha,
i'll miss ben low's fun yet productive sectionals,
i'll miss conversing japanese with yisheng (or i should think so),
i'll miss the hilarious moments spent at the circular area outside LT3,
i'll miss the robotic chereo movements of some of the juniors (seniors too HAHA)
i'll miss the moments where ppl horse around and taupok each other,
i'll miss the overseas trips very badly,
i'll miss the nervewrecking auditions,
i'll miss the lame excuses of how ppl account for their absence (i was late bcoz i needed to charge my phone)
i'll miss the sopranos obviously!!!!,

till yesterday i was still looking forward to the time where i would have no more choir practices.
but now, i hope that day never comes.
i'm experiencing really mixed emotions now.

---------------------
and of course, i'm feeling angry with yishu. VERY ANGRY coz he accidentally ran into me and knocked my specs, eventually knocking my face and now I HAVE A 3 CM CUT ABOVE MY RIGHT EYE. you are so dead!!!

oh, and i just watched 'are you smarter than a 5th grader?' on channel 5. the show's abt a contestant pitting his knowledge against 5th graders (1o years old) in answering a few questions, in an attempt to win $1,000,000. and obviously, the contestants' brains aren't as bright as the kids. today's contestant couldn't answer questions like 'how many sides are there in a trapezoid?' and 'how many decades make up 2 millenia?'. the latter was a $175000 question.

be careful what you wish for

Daughtry was the biggest winner of the night, winning Favorite Artist (Adult Contemporary), Favorite Breakthrough Artist, and Favorite Album (Pop/Rock). Justin Timberlake won Favorite Male Artist (Pop/Rock), Favorite Album (R&B). Carrie Underwood swept Favorite Female Country Singer and Favorite Country Album. Rihanna defeated Beyonce to win Favorite R&B Female Artist. Linkin Park won Favorite Artist (Alternative Rock), while Jennifer Lopez was consoled with a Favorite Latin Artist.

The worst award
, however, was for Best Soundtrack.
High School Musical 2 defeated BOTH Hairspray and DREAMGIRLS. Ridiculous.

and he shall reign forever woahaha!

SINGING!
alright, after that Malaysian school exchange performance last saturday, i've been having choir pracs almost EVERYDAY, leading up to the 25th nov combined concert with VCH. for those unaware, i believe facebook must have done an inadequate job in promoting the concert, so i shall share the details here:

Concert name : ReSERVed
What?
A combined Christmas Concert
Who? Raffles Institution String Ensemble and the Raffles Voices + Their respective conductors
Where? Victoria Concert Hall
When? 2.00pm
How? You can purchase it from me, or from anyone in RV or RISE. Circle seats are $15, while Stall seats are $12.
Why? Because it's my last choir concert unless chris manages to persuade me XD and because you should come and watch this great concert, put up by 2 fantastic musical groups! besides, you people have nothing much to do right! and furthermore, A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE GOING! so come!!!
besides choir, i still have my focus music lessons, and yay chenhoon and jj we passed our first test LOL!
---------------------------------------
STUDIES!
ok, obviously people's lives hasn't been of any excitement recently.
and i have this huge short-term memory lapse, thinking that i haven't posted any blog post today, which i apparantly did like 7 hours ago.
ok, i was just looking thru RJ's whole list of CCAs, and its truly overwhelming.
things that interest me include:
1) Raffles Economics & Current Affair Society
2) Entrepreneurs' Network
3) Raffles Chorale (lalala...)
4) STUDENTS COUNCIL!
i hope the first two can be something for me to fall back on should i not be successful in the last option.
------------------------------------------
MOVIES!
after watching lions for lambs and stardust (one highly political and another highly fantastical), can anyone recommend a good movie to watch?
contemplating to watch either beowulf or bratz, one highly action-packed and another highly bitchy, and i shan't watch the latter because there's enough of those in school.
------------------------------------------
TV!
ok some channel 8 7.30 show ended today, indicating the end of bad acting of m'sian and s'porean actors, and the end of the reigns of '______ dang jia's! well, but this isn't much for a call of celebration, considering they're gonna show some b-o-r-i-n-g HK drama instead. life without cable tv would be sad.
ok, if u have nothing better to watch, please watch Survivor:China, because it's really nice. it has already been the 15th season and i'm still loving it. alternatively, you can watch the amazing race, which i don't find as exciting, other than the fact that there's this ridiculous weird goth couple, and some lesbian clergywomen who got eliminated last week.
-----------------------------------------
I've so ran out of stuff to say, and thank god it's just in time for me to catch Survivor now. Something I should say 'KUDOS' to channel 5.

is this the way you left me

i hate going school for only 1-2 hours.
ESPECIALLY when it's shorter than my travelling time.
and it's happening tomorrow.

meaningless. ABSOLUTELY meaningless. after all, i doubt our suggestions will even prevail.

....but we made an announcement!

query for testimonial done! (thanks mrs albar!)
recommendation by teacher done! (thanks dr chionh!)

see, why all the unnecessary fuss? i've got it all done.
and i'm in jubilation.

12 November 2007

going through the motion of a scripted destiny

alright, after all the late wake-ups, i've finally woke myself up before 10.
but it just had to rain of all days.

i've been asking myself, should i write an emotional post abt graduating from school and everything? after pondering for moments, i told myself not to, because i can't bear to just start talking about it from square one. if i do, i'll probably take the whole of november to create this post. on a practical side, i also do not wish to upload photos and photos of grad nite and grad ceremony. Making it available on Facebook is good enough. hahaha.

meanwhile, i just treasure the friends that are around me, whether is it going to catch a movie or just pep talk on msn or through sms.

*Random moment but i just saw my superb illustration of Destiny's Child on Bryan's blog, drawn last year*

this is the time to break away from some crap i've gotten the past few months. all the ridiculous assignments, the constant worrying of grades, the 'duh' comments some teachers make repeatedly.. but of course, i hope to relish the fun times spent in school, such as scrutinizing teachers' fashion sense, gossiping about student-teacher/student-student/teacher-teacher relationships, hilarious classroom moments, or simply not paying attention during morning assemblies. all these things culminate in the enriching 4 years i've spent in school.

i guess i've grown a pretty hell lot over these few years? just saw one of my blog posts 2 years back, and boy, i was talking abt the things i ate for lunch, the time i bathed... that's what i call devoid of entertainment value.

having said that, i'm going to spend today reading some of my brother's econs and geog notes dated 2001 haha. it's pretty useful! and i need to save some time preparing my 1 page 'eulogy-like' essay about myself. i'm so loving that.

11 November 2007

axed factor

well, i subscribe to the X Factor programme on youtube. saw this video of a guy doing 'chasing cars'. gosh, no wonder he got eliminated after this performance. went out of tune at the start some more.

i preferred this one.

02 November 2007

it's over.

ok, it's official.
i'm no longer a ri student.
somewhat ended abruptly and awkwardly, coz i had to go settle my council meeting, go for choir small grp prac, and then go to arab street with wenjian yuzhou bryan senghenk to get decor stuff for grad nite.

oh man, and i feel really bad for not taking any photos with any teachers today because i simply had no time. AHHH. ok i PROMISE i'll take as many on grad nite. i WILL!!!

but well, at least i got myself a rather decent black vest for my grad nite @ River Island in raffles city!!! and it's freaking ex. it's good though, as i can use it on several occasions haha.

once again, thank you teachers. thank you friends. this has really been an incredible 4 years. i couldn't have asked for more.
