woo. meryl rocks. though a lil pitchy here and there, at least she took the courage to sing one of her idols' classics.
overall, the girls all did ok... though annabelle's louder-than-average voice took me by surprise. at first when i listened it sounded nice and unique, but when they recapped it, i tot it sounded noisy, as what the judges thought so too. but i liked her personality, when she argued that her voice wasn't weak. but indeed, her voice was strong, maybe perhaps showcased in the wrong song. emilee sounded very getai-ish, but i tot it was stilll very refreshing for the competition. it just sounded obscure though.
i really wish matilda will be out? cos' chain of fools is SERIUOSLY a boring BORING boring song. i almost slept. i rather get tortured by wanhua's or charmaine's performance. i think nurul deserves a chance. she sounded pretty professional. and at LEAST she was different.

i'm really gettin freaked out.
firstly, my ps2 is officially corkscrew. after 5 minutes of playing wrestling, the cd tray just ejects itself without me touching the console or anything. and then, IT CLOSES on its own. and it opens and closes and opens and closes. same thing happens for other games.

THE FREAKIEST THING IS THAT I CAN STILL PLAY THE GAME FOR AT LEAST A MINUTE BEFORE IT STOPS WORKING.

sad.sad.sad. tv shows are gettin boring nowadays. i think the shows that impress me the most now are the 7pm and 9pm chinese drama serials during weekdays, though sad but true, all the characters are portrayed by almost-mirror-mode actors/actresses. all same cast. don't tell me theres no one left in mediacorp. and even some of them have to be transferred to feature in channel 5 shows (like the upcoming show life story, where ALL THE CAST are from channel 8. just can't forgive them)

besides that, have been watching many world cup matches. can't believe i actually am starting to like soccer. no wonder some ppl are addicted to it. yes ljungberg SCORED A GOAL YES. go sweden!!!!!!!

watched two animation movies recently...












i preferred over the hedge more, though cars plot definitely had more depth.
looking at all the movies currently showing in cinemas, i feel that there's too many horror movies around nowadays? and its getting so boring, predictable, cheesy, it gets irritating to a certain extent. i have a hard time differentiating one from another. something worthy to note is that none of these horror shows ever have a rating of at least 3 stars. omen had 2, the nun had 1.5, when a stranger calls had 2 or 2.5. bad bad bad.

omg. i just got released from idol prison.

first thing. the contestants are basically very fake. look at their intro videos. the way they pronounce some words as though they NEVER PRONOUNCED THEM BEFORE IN THEIR LIVES. then, they go about saying 'VOTE FOR ME! VOTE FOR ME!' in a way i call insincere (only jonathan has had a successful intro video). VOTE FOR ME!! also, they'llll say this is a step for me to become a PROFESSIONAL singer and enter the music industry. omg, even american idol contestants don't say that. (and by putting singapore idol right after american idol you are bound to get critiqued.)

then once they go on stage, they either a) act cutesy b) act angmoh or c) act bitchy/flirtatious. for the whole of tonight, only rahimah had great personality. the rest were utterly fake. especially siew woon. like omg? (just to add: Are you happy now? by Michelle Branch is supposed to be an angsty fierce song with that kinda rock edge, but she sang it like some barney theme song, bopping about grinning like chesire the cat) no wonder dick lee said 'siew woon, i'm sure they're (fans) cheering for you bceause they know you not because you sang well'

typical sentence from the contestants after being critiqued:

and gurmit quoted ken lim wrongly by saying that milly khoo's performance agitated people, when ken lim said it ANTAGONISED ppl. (but nevertheless, her pitchy, out-of-tune totally wrong performance did no justice to the show)
another weird quote was from rahimah, who said that someone by the name of rahimah rahim also was her 'aunties' in-law'. hell, do i even need to know that?

one thing worthy to take note of is that when they perform, they just stick to that very spot and don't move about. cannot move one. all stuck like cauliflowers (which is a vegetable). and i still can't believe gayle came in at the wrong beat. super hilarious.

and more importantly, i think gurmit and daniel should swop roles. do you notice the way gurmit treats the audience? it seems unprofessional and mediocre. the way he says 'www.singaporeidol.com' sounds damn childish and i don't see why must they make the sentence 'the lines are open' sound SO IMPORTANT.

thank god the judges let rahimah to the next round.
